Your inner world. Your underworld.
The initiation into a new life starts with a journey into our inner world (or underworld).
To encounter our inner demons.
When we want change – a symbolic death is required.
A relationship ending
Leaving a job
Moving
Saying no to an old way of life
And rebirth follows – a change in consciousness and perception.
It is what we call the hero’s journey.
Just as we explored the outer world as children, the time has now come to explore our inner world.
As we journey inward and descend into our unconscious depths, we are confronted with our greatest fears, distorted beliefs and vies of the world.
Our darkness, our ugly thoughts and feelings and lots of pain.
This journey into the soul is one of the toughest challenges, because it is here that we encounter our inner demons.
It is here that we must allow our ego to die.
In order to fully know ourselves and be ‘reborn with a new consciousness.
Past patterns and experiences rise to our memory down here.
Our own, or cellular memories, passed down through generations – our psychological heritage.
Evolution has not eradicated these patterns and fears, but rather hidden then under other forms of behavior.
Why is it necessary to venture into the depths of our soul and shed light on our unconscious? Because, whatever is in the dark/shadow/unconscious – the behavior, the thoughts, the feelings and desires – control us without us knowing.
Our deepest fears and insecurities are our monsters and are actually why we fear the dark. Metaphorically speaking, but also as children – the monsters hiding in the closet.
We just don’t realize that ‘the closet’ is in fact our inner world.
Our unconscious, or that which is concealed from us, is a mirror of our soul. The veil, keeping the deepest layer of our being hidden from us.
If we are able to venture into our unconscious, our underworld, our own darkness, we can catch glimpses behind the veil, and see our deepest longings and depths.
We have adapted our conscious world – what we see and experience in every day life – to our inner fear’s need for security.
If we can go deeper – go beyond our fears – we are faced with our own truth – our true essence.
To bring the unconscious, into the light – into consciousness – into our awareness – the fear coming up from our unconscious (our hidden, inner world), must first pass through its ITSELF. Our fear must pass through itself – Psychological, this means the necessity of overcoming the fear or fear. Facing our fears.
This is our greatest obstacle on our way home to our selves – home to our essence.
“Out of the dark, warm security (the womb of the soul), through the narrows (the birth canal) into the glistening light of the cold world.”
Rebirth.
The new light is born at the hour of our greatest darkness.
We are all searching for the truth. Our own truth.
But many of us stop, due to our fear of exactly this truth.
Many don’t want to find THE truth, but rather their own concept of the truth.
For some, when everything falls apart around them, relationships end, works ends, etc. – the structures they have built in their lives to keep us safe – when they collapse, they are forced to penetrate deeper into the truth.
Why did you create the life that you did?
Why did it not work?
How do you move forward?
The moment you surrender the old. You must venture inward, before you can build anew.
Living means to continuously let go. Every person, situation, etc. that comes into our lives, we must be willing to let go of eventually. It is the dying and becoming. Allowing ourselves to shed what no longer serves our true purpose. Not getting stuck in fixed structures of concepts - not allowing them to crystalize.
We have to meet the feeling of free-falling and letting go of our believed safety-net, with only the calm trust in our inner growth. Trust that that which is aligned with Source cannot be destroyed
