The big problem that we’re experiencing today is that our values and roles in life and relationships have shifted so drastically that we no longer have a shared rulebook for how to show up with the opposite sex.

Our times have moved from dependence in relationship (= he provided for the home & family, while she nurtured the home & family) to independence (= no one needs anyone else).

As women have become more independent, we have also become more masculine and no longer have a very cherishing relationship with ourselves. The truth is that modern-day independent and “low-maintenance” women are giving more and getting less than women did before the women’s movement. These women were not just “giving”. They were, in fact, giving back to men who had been committed enough to marry them and to be respectable and responsible for their welfare.

Today women give men all the benefits of a wife without requiring a commitment from them. As a consequence of this, men have “lost their place in courtship and society”, since their traditional role is no longer needed – or seemingly even wanted. Men feel confused and frustrated with women and lack direction and purpose in their life.

This current model isn’t working – for women OR for men. Yet we’re stuck as to how to shift things, and there’s fear, pride and resistance on both sides. Being enchanting and feminine may look like going back in time to the 1950’s traditional housewife, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.  

I’ve worked with many ladies (and men from the other angle) and I’ve seen major shifts in their dating and relationships when they begin to truly understand how the opposite sex works.
